90-Day Reporting

Who Must Report

Mandatory for:

  • All foreigners staying in Thailand for 90+ consecutive days
  • Non-Immigrant visa holders (B, ED, O, O-A, O-X)
  • LTR and SMART visa holders
  • Work permit holders

Exempt:

  • Tourist visa holders and visa-exempt stays (under 90 days)
  • Diplomatic passport holders
  • Those who leave Thailand before 90 days

Reporting Schedule

  • First report: 90 days after arrival or last departure/return
  • Subsequent reports: Every 90 days from last report date
  • Reset trigger: Leaving and re-entering Thailand resets the 90-day count
  • Grace period: 7 days before to 7 days after due date

Reporting Methods

1. Online Reporting (Recommended)

  • Website: extranet.immigration.go.th
  • Requirements:
    • Previous successful in-person report (for account setup)
    • Valid email address
    • Passport and visa information
  • Processing: Immediate confirmation if approved
  • Available: 24/7 except maintenance periods

2. In-Person Reporting

Re-Entry Permits

Purpose

Re-entry permits allow visa holders to leave and return to Thailand without losing their current visa status. Without a re-entry permit, most visas become void upon departure.

  • Usage: One departure and return
  • Validity: Until current visa/extension expires

Multiple Re-Entry:

Application Process

At Immigration Office:

  1. Visit before travel (can apply same day as departure)
  2. Required documents:
    • Original passport with valid visa/extension
    • TM.8 form (application for re-entry permit)
    • 1 passport photo (4cm x 6cm)
    • Appropriate fee (cash)
  3. Processing: Same day (30-60 minutes)

At Airport (Departure):

  • Available at: Major international airports
  • Timing: Allow extra time before departure
  • Documents: Same as Immigration Office
  • Note: More expensive at some airports

Important Notes

  • Validity tied to visa: Re-entry permit expires when visa expires
  • Not required for: New visa applications (starting fresh status)
  • Multiple entry visas: Built-in multiple entry, but re-entry permit still needed for extensions

TM Forms & Address Reporting

TM.30 - Address Notification

Purpose: Property owners must report foreign guests within 24 hours of arrival

Who reports:

  • Hotel/accommodation: Automatically handled
  • Private residence: Property owner or manager
  • Rental property: Landlord or tenant (check lease agreement)

Reporting methods:

Required information:

  • Foreign guest passport details
  • Accommodation address

Penalty: ฿800-2,000 fine for late reporting

TM.47 - 90-Day Reporting Form

  • Purpose: Personal address confirmation every 90 days
  • Completion: By visa holder or authorized representative
  • Submission: With 90-day reporting process

TM.7 - Extension Application

  • Purpose: Visa extension applications
  • Use: At Immigration Office for staying longer
  • Fee: ฿1,900 (standard extension fee)

TDAC - Digital Arrival Card

  • Current status: Mandatory since 1 May 2025 for non-Thai arrivals by air, land or sea
  • Required action: Submit a new TDAC for each entry through the free official portal within the three days before arrival, including arrival day
  • Official service: tdac.immigration.go.th

Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

TDAC has been mandatory since 1 May 2025 for non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea. Submit a new TDAC for each entry through the free official Immigration Bureau portal at tdac.immigration.go.th within the three days before arrival, including the arrival date. The current official FAQ exempts passengers who transit or transfer without passing through immigration and crew entering in the course of their duties. Children are included. TDAC is not a visa or a guarantee of admission.

Travelers without reliable internet access should seek assistance from airline or Immigration staff and use available airport connectivity or kiosks as a contingency. Kiosks are not the normal substitute for pre-arrival completion. See the complete TDAC guide.
